About This Spot

Stepping into Burritos Luna Mexican Food in Imperial Beach is like finding a familiar corner where the rhythms of a late-night neighborhood blend with the hearty comfort of home-cooked Mexican flavors. The hum of casual chatter and the steady movement through the drive-thru create a steady, unhurried pace — a place where locals drop by any hour, drawn by the promise of something warm and satisfying.

The atmosphere is straightforward and unpretentious, with its focus clearly on the food and the steady flow of customers rather than on fancy décor. It’s the kind of spot where you might decide in the moment to stop by for a quick bite, but end up lingering a little as the aromas of carne asada and fresh tortillas mix subtly with the salt air from nearby beaches.

Here, the menu reads like a love letter to Mexican comfort food, with familiar favorites that feel both casual and generous. A plate of carne asada fries carries a satisfying heft, layered with flavors that invite slow appreciation. Rolled tacos come with a side of nostalgia, perfect for those seeking a quick, crispy treat. In the early hours, the Buenos Dias breakfast burrito feels like a quiet morning hug, blending the day’s first light with warm, savory ingredients.

Although service can ebb and flow with the ebb and flow of the crowd, the steady presence of Burritos Luna as a 24-hour beacon gives it an enduring sense of reliability. It’s a place grounded more in routine and comfort than in polished perfection. People come for the food that feels honest and filling, and for moments that are more about familiarity than flash.

For anyone wandering Palm Avenue or simply craving a late-night or early-morning local bite, Burritos Luna offers a slice of day-to-day life in Imperial Beach — a spot where the human moments, humble plates, and steady hum of community quietly intersect.

I got a carnitas burrito. The carnitas was very good however they forgot to put the guacamole on my burrito. It says on the menu that it comes with it. Disappointed that I didn't get what was expected. Other than that, really good.

I must’ve made it to Luna Burritos on a good night. Last night was a hit! I say this because within the past 2 years, my drive-thru experience at Luna Burritos has been below to mediocre. Basically, nothing to brag about on food and service. I am glad they’re open 24 hours. I was immediately greeted, as I drove up to the menu board. I had placed my order for beef rolled tacos. I drove up to the cashier window and was greeted again. There, I received my order within a couple minutes. Although, the car in front of me had waited a little longer than I have, the wait for me was still bearable. I was given my simple order along with salsas I requested. “Thank yous” were then exchanged and off I went. The drive thru cashier was the most friendliest, polite and professional-like staff I’ve encountered (she spoke English). Actually, I don’t recall any Luna staff that performed at higher standards. Also, props to the cook for making my rolled tacos crispy, not burnt, beefy with meat that stuck out at the end of the rolls, and tasty, with fresh avocados and cheese to top. All it was missing was shredded lettuce. It’s ok, my rolled tacos was the Bomb! Sending my THANKS to the late night crew on Monday, October 14, 2024. Luna burritos exceeded my expectation, surprisingly

Tbh the food is pretty good but some find it bad or sickening. I personally love the food there and their service great. The atmosphere is just basic restaurant vibe but its not about the vibe it's about the food. Overall 4/5 stars. Id comeback every now and then.
